Developed in partnership with Lancashire County Council for Community Settings.

This free, one-hour CPD-accredited training will give you practical, evidence-based strategies to make your community setting truly inclusive for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Created by The Therapeutic Forest CIC and led by our multi-disciplinary team of therapists, this course distils our most effective approaches into simple, actionable steps you can use right away.

In this course, you’ll learn how to:

  • Create environments where all children feel safe, valued, and able to participate.

  • Understand the barriers families with SEND face in public spaces and how to remove them.

  • Reduce anxiety before visits with low-cost preparation strategies like social stories, welcome videos, and friendly introductions.

  • Adapt your communication to meet different needs, improving understanding and behaviour.

  • Support children with sensory processing needs, even in busy or shared environments.

What you’ll get:

  • A CPD-accredited certificate upon passing a short online multiple choice exam.

  • A digital resource pack with an Inclusive Community Provider badge for your website or email.

  • The confidence and skills to welcome and support children with SEND in your setting.
