This course is brought to you by The Therapeutic Forest, who have combined clinical excellence with award-winning Paediatric Therapists to provide opportunities for Forest school leaders to gain insights from therapy and develop therapeutic skills to enhance their practice.
The course is delivered via our self-paced online platform with each module opening every 2 weeks for you to work through at your own pace. It has been designed to complete in 8 weeks.
You can access each module in your own time, whenever suits you. The course is then accompanied by a series of webinars and live discussions which take place in the evening and recorded in case you can't attend live.
You will need around 2-3 hours per week to study and can benefit from our live webinars and co-study sessions or take the entire course self paced whenever you have free time via our online learning platform.
Remember that the course is self-paced so you can do it in your own time around your other commitments this summer and if you'd like to take longer than 6 weeks, then you can do this.
Course Duration: 8 weeks
Commencement Date: 1st December (or 5th January if you'd prefer to wait until January)
Time Commitment: Approximately 2-3 hours per week
Format: Self-paced with live evening webinars and co-study sessions
The Online Course is broken up into four modules and is taught by a combination of online learning from videos and materials from our Clinical Team that you're able to work through at your own pace, guest speaker presentations from a range of therapeutic disciplines, webinars from a Play Therapist, Occupational Therapist and world leading Researcher as well as group discussion and assessment sessions led by our Clinical Psychologist and Speech and Language Therapist.
Each of our modules is designed to enhance your practice and provide you with the skills to support children therapeutically in Forest School settings, skills that are needed now more than ever.
By completing the full programme, you will be equipped with the skills to capitalise on the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors for both typically developing children and children with additional needs.
